The .wixlib combines multiple compiled outputs into a single file that can be shared with many other projects. A .wixlib can optionally contain the referenced content files, similar to Merge Modules, providing a self-contained unit of distribution. When the .wixlib contains the content in this way it is called a "binary .wixlib file".
To create a binary .wixlib file add the -bf
command-line switch to the lit.exe
call. In a MSBuild-based library .wixproj, set the LibBindFiles
property to true
.
